Meet: Vaune Johnson, Market President - Dickinson
How many years have you been in the Banking/Financial Industry? 23 years
Education: I received my Bachelors of Science in Accounting from Dickinson State University, and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Mary. I am a graduate of Graduate School of Banking in Boulder, CO.
What organizations and boards are you currently involved with in your community?
I am currently involved in a little bit of everything! I am a member of the North Dakota Board of Medicine, Stark County Job Development Authority, American Bankers Association Grassroots Committee, Chair of the NDBA Legislative Committee, Head Team for Strategic Planning for the Dickinson Catholic Schools, and Member of ND Society of CPAs.
What is your favorite thing about your community?
So many things! Our West River Community Center is a wonderful place for all ages. We have a diverse economy of manufacturing, agriculture, and energy. Dickinson is a gateway to the magnificence of the Badlands and an hour from Lake Sakakawea. We have strong private and public school systems along with Dickinson State University, which is working to meet community training needs. And, we can fly out of our regional airport to warmer destinations!
What is one fun fact that people should know about you? The pandemic has clipped my wings! I love to travel to places only an airplane can take me. In 2011/12 I was the first female Chair of the North Dakota Bankers Association. This opportunity of a lifetime exponentially expanded my professional and personal network.
