Cornerstone Bank to Break Ground on New Location in Watford City  


Cornerstone Bank will break ground on a new location in Watford City on Tuesday, May 3 at 11:00 a.m. at the building site located on Highway 85, just east of Heggen Equipment. The bank is scheduled to open to customers in the summer of 2017 and will offer conveniences like a drive up ATM and better parking in addition to the same great services offered at the current location. Cornerstone is working on this project with the Architecture Firm Wild CRG.


Cornerstone Bank has named Brian Thompson Training Manager and Stacey Tronson Compliance Officer. 

Thompson has over 20 years of banking and 13 years of Training experience. He attended North Dakota State University in Fargo majoring in Industrial Psychology and considers Fargo his home. Thompson says. “After living in Minneapolis and Phoenix for the past 10 years, I’m happy to be back in North Dakota and excited to be a part of the Cornerstone Bank Team.”

Tronson has over 20 years of legal, compliance, and financial experience combined. She is an Attorney, Certified Management Accountant and a Certified Risk and Compliance Management Professional. Originally from Lakota, North Dakota, Tronson earned her Bachelor of Accountancy with a minor in Political Science at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks and her law degree from Creighton University School of Law in Omaha, Nebraska. Tronson enjoys serving the community in a variety of ways exemplifying Cornerstone Bank’s core value that states, “We value our role as neighbors and contributors.” 

George Sinner Joins Cornerstone Bank Team


Cornerstone Bank is proud to welcome George B. Sinner to the Team as a Senior Vice President of Business and Agricultural Banking in Fargo where he will be helping people make important decisions about their money. He brings over 30 years of experience in the banking industry and a multitude of public service experience.

Sinner has been a successful Ag and Business Banker in Fargo for the past 17 years. Prior to that, he was an Agricultural Banker in Cavalier and Michigan, North Dakota. He has received numerous accolades throughout his banking career due to his high level of performance.

Sinner earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of North Dakota. He served as a Public Administration Intern for the North Dakota 46th Legislative Assembly in 1979 and was elected to the North Dakota State Senate in 2012, where he continues to represent District 46. In 2014 Sinner was a candidate for the United States House of Representatives. In addition to his governmental public service, Sinner has volunteered his time on various industry and community boards exemplifying Cornerstone Bank’s core value that states, “We value our role as neighbors and contributors.”


Cornerstone Bank Opens March 31 in Dickinson

Cornerstone Bank’s full service bank is now open in Dickinson! The new bank is located at 3095 15th St West in Dickinson, north of exit 59, in front of the west Family Fare store. 

“It’s an exciting time for us,” said Vaune Johnson, Cornerstone Bank Dickinson Market President. “Not only is it exciting for Cornerstone to open a new full service location, it’s exciting for our team to help customers make important decisions about their money.”

Cornerstone Bank opened a Loan Production Office in Dickinson in October, 2014. They broke ground on the full service bank location in June, 2015 and have been preparing team members ever since. Team members include Vaune Johnson, Market President; Scott Tschetter, Vice President of Business Banking; Michelle Richard, Customer Service Rep/Personal Banker; Kendall Kuntz, Personal Banker; Andreya Blanks, Customer Service Rep/Teller; JoLin Peck, Customer Service Rep/Teller; Pamela Montee, Home Mortgage Consultant; Nancy Klatt, Home Mortgage Assistant. 

Johnson adds, “Our Dickinson banking team is a talented group of experts empowered with the confidence and authority to make decisions.”

Cornerstone Bank Mortgage Loan Officer Cindy Trepanier Earns Award


Cindy Trepanier, Cornerstone Bank Mortgage Loan Officer, has been recognized as one of Minnesota Housing’s Top Producing Loan Officers. Trepanier achieved the silver level for the time period of July 1, 2015 through December 30, 2015.

Trepanier is committed to helping Minnesotans achieve their dreams of home ownership through Minnesota Housing programs. “As a native of Minnesota, I take pride in understanding the program and walking home buyers through the details,” says Trepanier.

Cornerstone Bank has bank locations in Bismarck, Fargo, Makoti, New Town, Parshall, Plaza, and Watford City with a full service bank opening in Dickinson in March 2016 and additional mortgage offices in Grand Forks and Minot. Cornerstone Bank Holding Company currently has $800 million in assets.

The Dickinson Cornerstone Bank team, with help form Beth Tschetter, decorated a GO BISON tree for a local charity auction this past weekend. We value our role as neighbors and contributors!

Cornerstone Bank is proud to support United Way with our annual team member campaign across all of our locations!      


We kicked off the campaign with a challenge to see who could raise the most dollars resulting in the “winners” having to wear the opposing team’s logo ware today!  Our “winners” were Gary Petersen, our CEO; Dale Patten, Market President from Watford City; and Vaune Cripe, Market President from Dickinson.  In addition, two of our Fargo team members, Jim Hambrick, SVP Business Banking and Tom Jacobson, Cornerstone Investments Group, had a challenge for their teammates.  All together, $6,249 was raised for United Way from this special event!
